How To Automate These 3 Forms Of Content

High quality content is one of the best ways to attract online customers. Pretty much all digital content can be divided into three forms: copy, images and video. In the past, such content could only be generated manually and required a huge amount of time and effort to produce. Nowadays, algorithms and AI have made it possible to automate a lot of content, reducing the time and effort necessary.

Of course, there are limits as to how much content can be automated while maintaining a high quality. It’s therefore important to know not just how to automate content, but when to automate content. This post explains more.

Copy

Copy includes any kind of written content. Emails and blog posts are two of the main forms of copy used by businesses to attract customers. There are useful ways of automating each of these.

Certain emails like order confirmation emails, customer feedback emails, payment reminder emails and birthday offer emails can be automatically scheduled to be sent on certain dates or automatically triggered to send when a customer performs a certain action. This is much more convenient than manually sending these emails.

With blog posts, you can link up your blog to your social media accounts so that each new blog post is automatically shared on your social media channels. There are also options for automatically sharing old content every few months.

But what about the actual writing itself? This is the most time-consuming part of creating copy, and many people have started to use AI to write blog posts and emails. This can drastically speed up content creation, but it has its downsides. AI content can run the risk of being well-written but generic. There is even a risk of accidental plagiarism. This is why it’s best to use AI to solely automate the drafting process, but to still tweak content so that it’s organic and human. Alternatively, you can write organic drafts, and use automated tools to edit text (including spell-checking tools, synonym finders and translation tools). Copywriting services found through sites like LINK creative may be a better option for speeding up the copy creation process.

Images

Images are essential to creating engaging social media content and PPC advertising. This includes photographs, illustrations and infographics.

AI image generation has come a long way and it is now possible to create realistic images using AI. However, some people can still tell when an image has been AI generated, and such images may not carry the professionalism of a real image. Therefore you need to use this form of automation in moderation.

It is far better to use AI to simply edit photos and illustrations. When it comes to infographics, there are many automated tools that can allow you to easily generate these (this guide at Buffer lists some of the best tools for automating infographics). Of course, if you want something truly unique, hiring a graphic designer is still the best solution.

Video

In the last decade, videos have become an increasingly more essential form of content. Aside from creating attention-grabbing adverts, videos can be used to more easily provide instructions or simply boost credibility by taking customers behind the scenes. But can you automate such content?

AI video generation is still in its infancy and although some companies have started to incorporate it into marketing videos, it is generally not up to a good enough standard to convert customers. That said, there are many automation tools that you can use to more easily edit videos. This includes automated speech-to-text transcription, video stabilisation, colour correction and the addition of various graphics and transitions. For more creative video editing, it may still be better to hire a human.

Conclusion

You should not rely on AI to entirely generate all your marketing content. However, you can use it to assist much of the content creation process. Much of the editing process and distribution process can be edited without sacrificing professionalism or originality. Make sure that you are using such tools to stay ahead.
